"In my perspective, meditating on the sounds of Shiva can bring an integration, an awakening and stability within oneself. Since childhood, these sacred sounds have surrounded and embraced me time and again, and I am sure it will give the listener and meditator a sense of centering, focus, strength and receptivity to Shiva’s grace and blessings. And when one is in that space, the aura becomes like a Shivalinga, which is the seed of the Universe, as we say in India."

Sanskrit is known as the language of the Gods. Its alphabet is like a mantra with immense power. Sanskrit is said to have emerged from the sound of Shiva's drum, known as Damru. Shiva also played his Damru as the universe was created. These sounds are able to create, maintain, regulate, transform, destroy.
Such is the power of sacred sound, such is the energy of Shiva and the mantras, stotras and prayers presented in this album. Feel this energy through the music from India and the ancient texts, which can have amazing power and protective, uplifting, energizing, transforming effects.

The word “Shiva” also means auspiciousness and perfection. Shiva is considered the “Lord of Immortality” as He has conquered Death. Uttering the very name of Lord Shiva rejuvenates the body, mind, and soul. Shiva Mantras come empowered with tremendous protective powers. Chanting of Shiva Mantras helps to become more fearless, fulfill our genuine missions and ultimately attain ultimate liberation known as Moksha.
“At the end of His Cosmic Dance, Shiva, with a view to bless the sages, played on His Damaru fourteen times, from which emerged fourteen Sutras, popularly known as Shiva Sutras or Maheshvara Sutras”
From the Mantra practice point of view, it is said that chanting of Shiva Mantras helps to dispel fear. They are particularly helpful in dispelling the fear of change and protecting against sorrows.
These mantras have the power to develop a person’s inner potential and strength and helpful in cleansing the body and mind.
Shiva Mantras can be chanted or heard when one feels weak and drained of energy both on physical as well as mental planes. Japa of Shiva Mantras is considered an astrological remedy to remove the negative influences of the “Maraka” planet that may affects one’s astrological chart.

As per the Rig Veda Lord Siva brought the Sanskrit alphabet sequence and the Sanskrit language to earth. The sounds of the alphabet originated from Lord Shiva’s ‘damru’ or drum.
Shiva is the first Yogi: Adiyogi.
